"Antiwar and anti-antiwar movies"
That's what I think this article by Jonah Goldberg should be entitled. It's an interesting take, especially since now Lions for Lambs has been released and it tanked as well.
I don't think most Americans are anti-war either, as a general principle. I think most people would tell you that they would fight for a war they believed was just; and also that the soldiers are not at fault even if the war they are fighting is unpopular. We did learn that less after Vietnam. The soldiers go where they are ordered to go, and it is the political leadership that should pay the price, if one needs to be paid.
Still, I do think that with more good news out of Iraq - good enough, and enough of it, that it can't be ignored or downplayed anymore - will change a lot of fickle American hearts. It's a real shame that people sway that much based solely on the ups and downs, but that's also pretty American.
