High Alert Cooking
Since it's Monday, the Monday of Thanksgiving week, I am now officially on cooking High Alert. I'm having some people over for the holiday and have an ambitious menu planned, so last night I got a start on the process by making cinnamon rolls (morning after), dinner rolls (they freeze well after they finish rising the second time), and pie crusts. Done, and done. Next up: More dinner rolls. The recipe doesn't make enough for my bread-hungry family, I think, so I'll make another tonight, they were super-easy. Also, turkey is thawing in the fridge, and tonight will be making Blue Cranberry Sauce and grocery shopping for the rest, while sister makes the pies. Hurray! I love having people over for a nice big meal.
This weekend I went to Potosi Missouri to some land owned by a fella named Caz, where a group of us camped out in tents (in the freezing cold!) to view the Leonids meteor shower. I saw my first ever shooting star - and then a dozen more, and it wasn't even supposed to be a good year for the show. Can't wait to see a really BIG meteor shower, if that one was small! We also (being Burners) had the world's biggest bonfire, which Caz lit off with an amazing bang, and a fireball that went fifty feet into the air.
I love people who love setting stuff on fire (in a non-destructive way).
What time is the big meal starting? I am inviting myself, hope you don't mind.

We're dining at five, and if there's any way you can make it I will save a cinnamon roll just for you! I wish you could be here.

I might actually be in (or above) your house at that time. I am spending T-giving with Mickey and Minnie. I'll tell Goofy that you said HI.
